Recruitment & Selection of Management Trainee of the city bank ltd.

Major phases:

    • CV screening
    • Written Aptitude Test
    • Assessment Centre
    • MANCOM interview

CV Screening:
Out of nearly 24,500 CV we have sorted out only 500 candidates. For short listing candidate weight age has been gives on following parameters:

    • Candidate’s Masters/Bachelors degree
    • Their Result(CGPA)
    • Institution(Bachelors): based on ranking of universities
    • Scholastic specialization:
    • Extracurricular activities: Special emphasize had been given while choosing candidates on the basis of extra curricular activities. More emphasize was given for the candidates with exposure of extracurricular activities at international or national level.

Written Aptitude Test:
There were 3 parts of Written Aptitude Test, they are : 1. Aptitude/IQ test  2. English proficiency test     3. Standard Progressive Metrics (SPM).  Total 289 candidates appeared for the written exam.

Assessment Centre:
Total 154 candidates had been assessed for 13 day. Four assessment tools have been used for this assessment centre:

  1. Group Discussion
  2. Role play
  3. Behavioral Event Interview(BEI)
  4. Presentation

Following core competencies had been identified for selecting right candidates which is aligned with core values of the city bank ltd. They are:

  1. Communication & Influencing skills.
  2. Supervisory leadership
  3. Delivering result
  4. Customer Focus
  5. Change initiative.

All case studies and exercised has been developed using critical incident method which was totally customized for city bank and information collected after taking interview with proven achievers of the bank.

MANCOM Interview:
It was the final interview session conducted by the management committee of the city bank ltd. 64 successful candidates from assessment centre attended this MANCOM interview. Out of this 64 finally 26 selected for the position of management trainee (MT).
